She converted to Islam at the age of 19 and married an Egyptian. “I wouldn’t choose a religion that tells me to kill”

Aleksandra Helail is a Polish Muslim whose life spans between Poland, Germany and Egypt. She spent her last years in Cairo. Currently, the Polish woman lives in Berlin with her husband and daughter. On Instagram, she shows her everyday life and introduces people to cultural diversity. – I feel both Polish and Muslim – she said in one of the conversations.

Aleksandra Hetail runs , which is followed by nearly 70,000 people. Through, among others: social media, Aleksandra tries to show her life with her Egyptian husband. It familiarizes its observers with Egyptian customs and traditions. She also proves that the life of a convert in Islam is not what some harmful stereotypes suggest. “I’m getting used to otherness” – we can read in her description on a popular social media platform.

Of course, she sometimes encounters hate – mainly from people who do not understand the essence of the religion, customs and lifestyle she has chosen. In one of her posts from January 2023, she writes, for example: “All Muslims are terrorists – how often have I heard this harmful and erroneous sentence. Think about it… there are over a billion Muslims in the world, if it were really so, there would be little left.” on this planet. People who commit crimes and kill innocent people are radicalized and manipulated people who, with their crimes, provide a service to those who use religion as a cover to achieve their goals,” we read.

It is written in the Quran that if you kill one innocent person (a human being, not a Muslim), it is as great a sin as if you had killed all of humanity. And if you save the life of one innocent man, it is as if you saved all of humanity. Human life is very important in Islam. I really wouldn’t consciously choose a religion that told me to kill anyone

– writes the influencer.

She also often answers questions asked by Internet users. Also in January 2023, she confessed, for example, that one of the most frequently asked questions is whether she converted to Islam because of her husband. – When I did it, I didn’t know my husband yet. I was 19 years old then and it was my own decision – she explained in the attached recording.

“This is one of the most frequently asked questions. I would like to add that it annoys me that women who converted to Islam after marrying a Muslim always hear: ‘yes… he forced you’, ‘you know, it was because of him’, but when I say that I did it much earlier, it’s like ‘ahaaaa, okay’. Everyone has the right to make their own choices and it doesn’t matter when they make them. If they’re happy, what’s wrong with that?” – she wrote in the description of the published video.

At first they were shocked. I grew up in a Catholic family, so most of my family had no prior exposure to Islam. My mother was the first to change her mind about my decision. She saw that it had a good influence on me and did not, contrary to popular belief, lead me in a radical direction.

– she announced. – As a teenager, I was constantly looking for my path. Before I became a Muslim, I was thinking about joining the Evangelical Church. However, it was Islam that I liked the most, she added.
