The Polsat journalist won against Jacek Kurski and TVP. “I had the entire TVPiS legal office opposite me”

Jacek Kurski fired Jacek Gasiñski quickly after taking over at TVP. He accused a former correspondent in Moscow of misappropriating money. Years later, the case ended up in court.

Jacek Gasiński was a TVP correspondent in Moscow for three years. When Jacek Kurski took over at Telewizja Polska, he said goodbye to the journalist. However, he did not end there – he also accused him of misappropriating money intended for the mission in Russia. According to TVP, Gasiński allegedly accounted for this money incorrectly. Years later, the court of second instance cleared him of the charges.

Journalist Jacek Gasiński won the lawsuit against TVP

The judgment of the court of second instance is final and not subject to cassation. It was found that no misappropriation had occurred. However, this happened only seven years after Gasiński was fired from TVP. At that time, the journalist was facing the entire legal machinery at Telewizja Polska’s disposal. He mentions on social media that he argued his case without a lawyer:

I supposedly knew that the truth would prevail, but it was stressful because I appeared in court in person, without lawyers. And opposite me was the entire TVPiS legal office. Poor office by the way. Today I can say this with full responsibility. And they are constantly paid for by Mr. and Mrs. I wonder how many cases they filed and lost for state money, the journalist concluded.

Gasiński was associated with TVP for many years, from 2004 – with a short, four-year break (2006-2010) he also worked in the editorial office of “Fakty” TVN. when the journalist was fired during the great media purge he carried out when he took over political power over TVP, he accused him of misappropriating three thousand dollars. Currently, Jacek Gasiński has found a peaceful haven in News.

Jacek Kurski changed TVP into Law and Justice Television

After taking power in 2016, Jacek Kurski began a series of high-profile dismissals and promotions. Most of the previous faces of the station left the news and entertainment department: Piotr Kraśko, Jaros³aw Kulczycki, Karolina Lewicka and many others. In their place, Jacek Kurski recruited employees of private media, mainly related to the Srebrna Company, and journalists who openly supported one side of the political dispute. A place on TVP was found by the Karnowski brothers, Marzena Paczuska, Danuta Holecka, Micha³ Adamczyk, Samuel Pereira and others, who turned public media into a propaganda mouthpiece for one party.
