When Lisa Dove became an almost mother, her life changed quickly and she began to gain weight. “I just didn’t have time to go to the gym or prepare meals. It was easier to just walk down the aisle and pick up the pizza.” However, one day she said “enough”.

Dove said she struggled with her weight for a decade, and at the age of 35, she developed type 2 diabetes. She was fed up with her body and her medications. She decided to change her life and started fighting for her figure. She lost as much as 160 kilograms in a year and became a role model for many people.

During the coronavirus pandemic, Dove, who turns 50 this year, she decided she needed to make a change because she found she could no longer do everyday thingssuch as climbing stairs without breathing heavily or chasing after your children who were playing competitive sports.

The woman amazed everyone with her determination. Thanks to hard work, she defeated diabetes

Dove said she started her weight loss journey in January 2021. She began dealing with emotional eating by joining an eating improvement program, seeing a therapist, and focusing on physical activity. She started by walking and later joined a local gym.

Initially, Dove started with regular walks and slowly transitioned to the elliptical machine, strength training, weight lifting, and back to the cardio exercises she did in her youth. By May 2022, Dove had lost almost 160 kilograms. Thanks to diet and exercise, her doctor has also taken her diabetes medication off her, which makes Lisa very happy. She hopes her fight will motivate others.
