A huge success for the Polish woman! Hania Rani played a unique concert in the USA. “What a freshness!”

“Poland had Chopin a long time ago, now it has Hania Rani” – we can read such a comment under the recording of a unique concert that the Pole played as part of the prestigious Tiny Desk Concerts series. The American public radio is behind the project, and the “Polityka” Passport winner is the second person from Poland who managed to play in the famous Washington studio. Thanks to this venture, her career can go even further!

2024 started with a string of successes for Hania Rani. First, she was awarded the “Polityka” Passport in the popular music category “for leading a wide audience to areas that have not previously been associated with mass appeal. For the impressive development of her own aesthetics, and finally for her original combination of genres and music with text.” And now her performance as part of the prestigious Tiny Desk Concerts series has just been published.

Hania Rani conquers the world. Many people from all over the world are delighted with her work

This is an initiative of the American public radio NPR, under which the biggest music stars from around the world are invited to Washington. So far, about a thousand artists have played mini-concerts in the famous studio, including Coldplay, Dua Lipa and Ed Sheeran. So far, only the group Trupa Trupa, which received this honor in 2020, has managed to perform as part of the series among Polish artists.

Hania Rani visited the NPR studio to promote the latest album titled “Ghosts”, which was positively received both in Poland and abroad. During her Tiny Desk Concerts performance, she performed three songs from this album. These are “Thin Line”, “Moans” and “Don’t Break My Heart”. Moreover, she was accompanied on stage by a Polish musician, Ziemowit Klimek.

“Hania Rani creates beautiful music that is soulful and at the same time enchanting. The Polish pianist and composer blurs the boundaries of ambient, classical and house – immersed beats pulsate under the waves of piano, synthesizers and her delicate voice. She regularly performs in concert halls throughout Europe , but during the American tour she played her intimate songs from the ‘Ghosts’ album on a grand scale to Tiny Desk,” we read in the description of the recording.

However, not only the NPR editorial team is delighted with the Polish woman’s talent. People commenting under the recording also give vent to their emotions caused by Hania Rani’s music. “I’ve been waiting for this for years. An incredibly talented and charismatic musician. From Esja to Les Invalides and now here. Her art and personality are visible in every environment,” we read. But that’s not all:

Yes! Freshness! Inspiration! Deep breath! I’m just enjoying this moment when I feel new music!

Poland had Chopin a long time ago, now it has Hania Rani. Congratulations!

I am mesmerized by this artist. Thank you NPR.
