Just after the speech by Michał Kołodziejczyk from the Civic Coalition, he unexpectedly stormed the parliamentary rostrum. The room became noisy, especially since the marshal did not allow him to speak. – Your Honor! The president seemed completely unfazed by this and continued his speech after a moment of silence. He immediately referred to the words of his previous speaker, who accused him of inaction during the grain crisis with Ukraine. – After 8 years of your rule, 20 years will not be enough to fix your terrible mess. You, young man, should remember this, he thundered.
On the same day, Szymon Hołownia appeared on Monika Olejnik’s program “Kropka nad i” to comment on numerous statements directed at him after the above-mentioned incident. He admitted that Kaczyński’s behavior not only confused him, but also “intimidated.” – Suddenly I saw President Kaczyński walking to the podium, moving like a tank, coming in as if he were doing his thing – he reported. – I thought he wanted to say something important, to announce something. However, he is the senior member of this chamber. So many years in politics. I won’t shout at him, so, following the principles of good manners, I allowed him to give this short filipika – he explained. At the same time, he noted that there have been significant changes in the behavior of PiS members, as some of them remain passive to the statements of “their own” and sometimes even “look away.”

However, this was not the only issue that the Speaker of the Sejm raised in the talk show. He also referred to the strong words of Kaczyński, who accused the new authorities of “using torture” against Mariusz Kamiński while he was in custody. He even went so far as to say it was a “personal decision”, which he plans to inform the European Union about. Hołownia stated directly that the allegations were absurd.
Somewhat teasingly, he said that the politician was apparently “not familiar with historical eras and geography.” – If someone in the Sejm today says that men in prison were subjected to torture, and they are in good shape, giving interviews smiling from ear to ear, this is not what people who were subjected to torture look like – he emphasized. At the end of the conversation, the host asked whether he thought “Kaczyński was torturing democracy.” The answer leaves no doubt. – They say that we are terrorizing democracy. Well, this is kind of sick, said Hołownia.
