Danuta Holecka hosted released “political prisoners”. She referred to the “thermostat scandal”

Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik have been in prison since January 9. They were sent there pursuant to a final judgment of the District Court in Warsaw, which at the end of December 2023 sentenced PiS politicians to two years in prison in connection with the land scandal.

President Andrzej Duda pardoned former ministers on Thursday, January 24. Until then, politicians’ wives, Barbara Kamiñska and Romualda Wąsik, were very active in the media. The day after their husbands were detained, the women appeared on Republika TV, where Danuta Holecka talked to them.

The former head of TVP’s “Wiadomości” hosted the pardoned Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik in the last edition of “Guest Today”. During the interview, she referred to the statement of the wife of one of the politicians, who complained about the lack of heating in the house, for which her husband was previously responsible.

– I have to tell you something unpleasant. When your wives were here and they were giving a very honest interview, a really honest interview, your wife said she didn’t know how to deal with the thermostat because you always did it. It is normal that there is a division of duties, but she was hated for it, said Holecka, worried. Then Maciej Wąsik suddenly interjected:

I have to make a correction. This thermostat was added to my list, I don’t have a single thermostat at home.

Then an employee of Republika TV decided to defend Romualda Wąsik. – The media wrote about the thermostat, my wife said she didn’t know how to set the heat. I guess it’s natural that we have a division of responsibilities at home. Someone mows the grass, someone cleans, the host continued. Then Mariusz Kamiński decided to add his two cents:

There is no shortage of mean, stupid people. We know about it, we can deal with it, said the PiS politician.

Then Maciej Wąsik decided to express that they were both very proud of their wives and their attitude. – They are extremely brave, lovely, the most beautiful – he said. However, Mariusz Kamiński stated that at the same time they were surprised by the women’s behavior.

– With what? That you have such proud, brave, wonderful wives? – Holecka asked in surprise. – That they are so strong. I was very afraid that our loved ones would be devastated, but I am proud. I am full of admiration for my wife and son, for my loved ones, said Mariusz Kamiński.
