Krzysztof Ziemiec has been associated with TVP, with short breaks, since 2004. He was one of the few journalists who kept his job after the United Right took over power and then public media. Viewers associate him primarily with hosting “Wiadomości” and then “Teleexpress”.
Bitter words from the Earth. He feels left out
Ziemiec has been one of the most recognizable figures on Polish Television for the last eight years, and today he is unemployed. He decided to talk to “Fakt” about his current situation, not hiding his regret and bitterness. He stated that no one informed him about his dismissal.
I am in a group of many people with whom no one talks or calls. Rafał Patyra and Beata Chmielowska-Olech, who alternately hosted “Teleexpress” with me, are also in the same situation.

The former TVP employee admitted that no one from the new management talked to him or his editorial colleagues about the changes. From one day to the next, they simply blocked the entrance to the building and their work e-mail. “We don’t know where we stand, and life is running out. It has never been like that. I have worked at TVP for over 20 years, there have been changes, but never like now. We just came to work and no one wanted us. It’s like closing the door in someone’s face and not letting them in,” he says.
Is the media world closed to him? “Nobody spoke”
He also talks about his unemployment, which, despite his extensive work experience in the media, is still ongoing. “No one said anything, the market is closed. And there are too many free people on the market, so no one will open the gates now. (…) I don’t plan any rest, I’m unemployed, I don’t have a job, there’s nothing to do rest,” he concludes. He also feels the viewers’ longing for him as the host of “Teleexpress”. So what should Maciej Orłoś’s fans say?
