“The program inspection confirmed multiple violations of applicable law by disseminating content full of examples of pathological behavior, vulgarity, aggression, contempt and hostility,” read the announcement issued over 10 years ago.
TVN, contrary to the KRRiT regulation, marked the series as available for viewers “from 12 years of age” and broadcast it before 8 p.m. However, the mentioned content is eligible for an older audience and should be marked with the “16+” symbol.
TVN will pay a fine for the program “Judge Anna Maria Wesołowska”
“According to the National Broadcasting Council, the matters shown are too difficult for minor viewers under 16 years of age to perceive in terms of their emotional, moral and intellectual maturity, and may cause anxiety reactions, cause loss of trust in family members, disturb their sense of security and have a negative impact on their further mental, moral and physical development,” argued the Council.
The National Broadcasting Council then imposed a fine on TVN in the amount of PLN 100,000. The station’s then spokesman, Karol Smoląg, declared that he would appeal against the decision. This is what happened, and the case went to the Supreme Court. According to the Wirtualne Media portal – the final, final judgment in the case was issued.
“After the review by the Supreme Court, the Court of the Second Instance confirmed in the justification for the judgment that the above-mentioned programs showed violence, including sexual violence, and presented a primitive image of the world, both through the behavior of the characters and the vocabulary they used. All four episodes showed a one-sided and pathological image of interpersonal relationships and social events, and the intimate sphere of man was presented in a distorted, dehumanized form, using violence and domination,” the National Broadcasting Council reported.
