(H)ilbeltza: January, crime novels, Basque and Baztan converge again

It is already a reference event at the beginning of each year: Baztan celebrates, from January 22 to the 28, (H)ilbeltza Euskal Nobelaren Astea, a week of crime novels that reaches its tenth edition this year.

The program of the meeting will be opened by a talk with the winner of the sixth edition of the Hilbeltza scholarship: Beñat Irasotrtza will speak on Monday, January 22, in Arizkun about the translation of the novel into Basque Altxa, hildakoak by Fred Vargas.

On Wednesday it will be the turn of the writer and academic Miren Agur Meabe, who will give the talk “Eusebio Erkiaga: Arranegitik bertze auzo batzuetara.” On Thursday, for his part, the writer Jon Alonso will present the book Carvalho Euskadin in Berroeta, accompanied by Irati Jimenez.

On Friday, January 26, there will be a film screening in Irurita starting at 7:30 p.m. You can see the documentary by Josu Martinez Mirande, film bat egiteko zirriborroaabout the controversial writer born in Paris.

On Saturday, the programming will continue throughout the day. In the morning, a round table will be held under the title “Sorgin-ehiza Euskal Herrian”, then there will be food at Erratzu, followed by the presentation of books by Ernesto Prat, Mikel Begoña and Xabier Lasa. To end the day, Susmagarrien Gaua will be celebrated in Erratzu.

As an end to the party, on Sunday afternoon (7:00 p.m.) there will be a bertsos recital in Elizondo with the bertsolaris Nerea Ibarzabal, Alaia Martin and Saioa Alkaiza.
