‘Succession’ and ‘The Bear’ dominate the Emmys with six awards each

‘Succession’ and ‘The Bear’ left little room for surprises this Monday and won the 75th Emmy Awards with a tie of six awards, including best drama and comedy series respectively, to expand their successful career in this awards season.
The ceremony was held in Los Angeles four months later than planned due to last year’s Hollywood strikes.
The fourth and final season of the series about the Roy family, which had already emerged victorious in the 2020 and 2022 installments, was also crowned in the categories of best drama actor (which went to Kieran Culkin), best actress (Sarah Snook ), best supporting actor in a drama (Matthew Macfadyen), screenplay and direction of this genre.
For its part, ‘The Bear’ also saw its protagonist Jeremy Allen White emerge as best actor in a comedy series, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach win as supporting actors, in addition to the recognitions for best comedy direction and script.
Furthermore, ‘Bronca’, the audience phenomenon from the Netflix factory about a fight at the wheel, was destined to follow the legacy of ‘The White Lotus’ as the best limited series (miniseries) of the course and did the same, winning in that and four other sections: best miniseries direction, script and best actors in this format for its protagonists, Steven Yeun and Ali Wong.
British musician Elton John became the nineteenth ‘EGOT’ personality, as those who have an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tonny Award throughout their career are known.
Recognition from the US Television Academy was what he was missing and he got it in the category of best special in a variety program for his tour closing concert broadcast on Disney+ in November 2022.
The 76th edition of the Emmys will be held in September of this year.
