Through an official announcement British royal house made it known that King Charles III will undergo surgery next week for the treatment of enlarged prostate.

This condition is known as Benign prostate hyperplasiawhat happens when the prostate becomes larger than normal size. The prostate is a gland located just below the bladder.

This announcement comes shortly after it was revealed that The Princess of Wales, Kate, has been hospitalized after abdominal surgery.

Buckingham Palace said the king’s condition was benign but he would undergo “corrective surgery”. The Prostate hyperplasia is not cancerous, and it is common in men over 50 years oldbut it can cause symptoms and problems such as difficulty urinating, according to England’s National Health Service (NHS) website.
