The right-wing TV Republika channel is currently the second most popular news station in Poland. A significant increase in viewers occurred after the suspension of TVP Info, which was created by a team established during the PiS government. Since then, the channel has been broadcasting a continuous “special edition”, which was initially devoted to changes in the public media, and for a few days now it has also been devoted to the detention of former PiS MPs Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik. The station’s employees call them “political prisoners.”

In recent weeks, the biggest stars of the so-called national media, such as Micha³ Rachoñ or Danuta Holecka. The former star of TVP’s “Wiadomości” became one of the hosts of the “Dzisiaj” TV daily and can be glad that she was not the host of the Monday edition of the program, which involved an awkward slip-up.
The station employee misspelled the name of one of the prison inmates. The mistake occurred at the very beginning of the program, when a several-second preview of today’s materials was shown. The narrator talked about the current situation of “political prisoners”, and the screen showed archival footage of two former PiS MPs. However, on the bar we could see the following title of the material:

This is not the first situation recently where a lack of professionalism is visible on Republika TV. Last week, the name of Błażej Poboży, who is the new advisor to President Andrzej Duda, was presented in a strange way. During the program broadcast in English, not only his statement was translated, but also his name as “Blessed God”, which means “blessed god”.
