After the opposition took power, revolutionary changes began almost immediately. Popular news programs were included, as well as the presenters who had been their faces in recent years, acting under the dictation of the then government. This group includes, among others: Danuta Holecka, who joined the team after leaving the public broadcaster. In Tomasz Sakiewicz’s right-wing station, she became the host of “real Polish news”, i.e. the “Dzisiaj” news service.

In the Thursday edition of the program, which was broadcast on January 11, 2023, she did not broadcast, as usual, from the studio on Dzielna Street, but from the Sejm, where the “March of Free Poles” was taking place. Initially, she tried to connect with Adrian Borecki, who was among the crowd of demonstrators, but then she encountered the first difficulties. – Adrian, can you hear me? – to a friend when she realized there was no connection.
After a few seconds of silence, she decided to explain to the audience what was happening. – I think there was some problem… with the connection – she said to the camera. Finally, the reporter appeared on the air, but this was not the end of the perturbations, because this time there was silence in the journalist’s earpiece and she did not hear his statement. – Hello hello, can we hear each other? – she said to Borecki. – Yes, yes, Danusia, we hear each other – assured the reporter. It only got worse.
Holecka presents statistics about the march. A “minor” error has occurred
Holecka tried hard to control the situation, constantly informing technicians about any difficulties. When she spoke again, she explained that the disruptions were caused by the number of Poles gathered for the march. – We have limited communication. These problems result from the fact that there are over 300,000 people. Communication is very limited. Adrian Borecki has been with these people from the beginning of the trial. I’m calling for Adrian Borecki – she said to the audience. It is worth mentioning that the data she provided contradicts those collected by the city hall, whose statistics show that the event was attended by not 300,000, but about 35,000. people.
The called reporter once again went on to report on the situation, but this time Holecka did not hear him at all. At one point they even started talking at the same time. Confused, Borecki interrupted and, unaware of anything, she added a few more words, and then there was silence again. At the end of this chaotic speech, the words of citizens chanting “This is Poland” were heard in the background. A recording from this edition of the website has already appeared on the official profile of TV Republika on YouTube, but there is no point in looking for the above-mentioned blunders in it, because all of them were carefully removed by the editors before publication.
