TVP’s liquidator calls on Michał Adamczyk to “stop calling himself president.” What does Adamczyk say about this?

The liquidator of Telewizja Polska, Daniel Gorgosz, called on Michał Adamczyk to “immediately stop impersonating the president of the management board of TVP”. Adamczyk replied.

On Thursday, Gorgosz closed the Television Information Agency building at pl. until further notice. Warsaw insurgents. It has been there since December, among others. Adamczyk protested against changes in TVP. From December 26, he became the “president of TVP”, which was announced by the National Media Council, which in 2016 was considered unconstitutional.

The liquidator talks about the call, Adamczyk denies it

As TVP reported, the liquidator not only calls on Adamczyk to stop impersonating the president, but also “undertake a number of other illegal actions that cause serious damage to the company.” He also announced “taking further legal steps.” Meanwhile, Adamczyk claims that he knows nothing about it.

– This is nonsense – says Michał Adamczyk in an interview with “Presserwise”. – I did not receive any summons from a person claiming to be a liquidator. That’s the first thing. And secondly, an illegal liquidator can send letters to whomever he wants. They have no significance and no legal basis – maintains the former head of the Television Information Agency.

What’s the deal with closing the TVP building?

From January 11, the TAI building at pl. Powstańców Warszawy is closed until further notice to members of the public. It was there that, until the changes in TVP, the following were created: next edition of “Teleexpress”. Since the decision of Minister Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz on changes in the company’s management, this and many other programs are broadcast from another studio. The holidays were spent at the TAI headquarters by, among others, Adamczyk and Samuel Pereira, claiming that they still manage TVP. They also reached out to supporters of Law and Justice protesting in front of the building.

The liquidator explains that the decision to close the building is dictated by “numerous cases of abuse of powers resulting from the exercise of the mandate of a parliamentarian.” Gorgosz claims that “they lead to unauthorized persons being allowed into TVP facilities, which results in numerous violations to the detriment of TVP and its employees.” This decision is dictated, according to the liquidator, “primarily by the need to ensure the safety of TVP employees and the necessary protection of the company’s property, including its critical infrastructure.”
