“‘Zniewolona’ was Kurski’s child. When he was fired from television, Matyszkowicz didn’t let him play it out of spite. In the corridors they say it’s nothing more than revenge. He wanted to build an ambitious television, although he didn’t succeed, and preferably without the gems of his predecessor wherever possible. He said that television would move away from Ukrainian or Turkish tapeworms. It was nothing more than marking the territory and showing who is in charge now,” the portal Plotek.pl learned unofficially. The website also asked Telewizja Polska for a comment on the series, but received no response.
The action of “Zniewolona” takes place in the 19th century in what is now Ukraine. The main character is Katierina Wierbicka, a serf who wants to regain her freedom at all costs.
