The 68th Eurovision Song Contest will take place on May 7, 9 and 11, 2024 at the Malmö Arena in Malmö, Sweden. The event is organized by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which, in cooperation with the Swedish public television SVT, has already announced the participants of next year’s competition. 37 performers will perform there, including a Polish representative.
Eurovision 2024 is coming. Those interested can submit applications until February 2
For now, it is not known who will represent our country, but several stars have already confirmed their willingness to take part in the competition. One of such people is Justyna Steczkowska, but also the influencer Izabela Zabielska, and the winner of the third edition of The Voice Kids, Marcin Maciejczak.
However, we already know what this year’s national pre-selections will look like. Telewizja Polska has opened the possibility of registering for the competition via e-mail. You can submit your application until Friday, February 2, at 10 p.m., to eurowizja@tvp.pl.
Interestingly, the Polish representative will be selected exclusively by the competition committee, which will be selected by TVP. “Such a strategy had been expected for some time, but this was not met with the approval of many fans who believed that the broadcaster should internally designate Justyna Steczkowska as the country’s representative,” reports the Eurovision Journal.
There are also clearly defined requirements that must be met to qualify for the Polish pre-selection. The contractor must be at least 16 years old and have Polish citizenship. The song submitted to the competition cannot be longer than 3 minutes and must have original music, lyrics and a premiere character. Moreover, it cannot contain content that discriminates against any social groups.
