The woman belongs to one of many families in Poland that for some time believed strongly in God, but a lot has changed since the pandemic. In addition, many behaviors and decisions of priests made people stop trusting them and not seeing the point of existence of this institution. The woman also recalls that the Church’s alliance with the former authorities did not encourage her to change her mind. This year, however, they decided to receive the priest after Christmas carols. The husband was not entirely satisfied, but the argument that his daughter was planning to get married soon finally convinced him.
The priest’s behavior surprised the family. The Church needs such people
They didn’t have to wait long. When the priest came, they were surprised by how young he was. He didn’t talk about politics, didn’t ask intimate and nosy questions, it was quite a pleasant conversation. He radiated peace and goodness, and he was smiling all the time. The only thing he asked was if they were happy, how their lives were and what they were doing in their lives. The woman was impressed because she talked to this priest like an old friend. After praying together, he began to say goodbye to the household members. The reader reached for an envelope into which she had previously put PLN 100 and wanted to give it to the priest. However, he said that the Church handles finances quite well, and if a woman wants to give this money to someone, let it be for a noble cause.. He mentioned that they would help sick children much more, shook his head and left. The woman couldn’t get over the shock for a long time. He dreams that the number of such priests will increase. He claims that then the number of believers will increase significantly quickly.
