Men often want to accompany their partners at an important moment, such as childbirth. A nurse who works in the maternity ward on a daily basis revealed that new fathers often say words in the maternity ward that surprise the staff themselves.

The day a child is born is a special moment in the lives of parents. More and more men decide to accompany their partners to the maternity ward, as well as during the delivery itself. A nurse revealed on her social media what words fall out of men’s mouths.

Nurse Anna Pascarella assisted with childbirth and participated in postpartum care for several years. She recently took to her TikTok channel to share some of the “crazy” things she’s heard over the course of her career from men in the delivery room.

She revealed that one future father even went so far as to ask how he could conduct a paternity test. At the same moment, his girlfriend was giving birth. Many comments from men also focused on their partner’s body. One man said that “her private parts will never look the same again.”

Men often underestimate the effort and pain a woman faces during childbirth

The video shows that several of them also had unusual requests. They asked for an additional stitch for the partner, which is an outdated technique. Until recently, it was believed that an additional stitch helped with healing, but the truth is completely different. For a young mother, it simply causes pain and discomfort. During the short recording, at some points the nurse played the role of men in the delivery room, repeating verbatim what some of them said.

Does it really hurt that much?

No, no, no, she doesn’t need anything for the pain.

Anna Pascarella also witnessed a situation where one husband refused to pay an $8,000 hospital bill because his wife chose the “luxury” of an epidural. Men also often complain that labor takes too long.

Why is this taking so long?

My back hurts a lot from sleeping in this chair.

Several men have scolded their wives for being too demanding and noisy during childbirth.

Are you really trying your hardest?

You have to be quiet, you’re too loud.
