is one of the most popular game shows on Polish television, which has been attracting millions of viewers for almost 25 years. Participants taking part in it have to face a variety of questions from various fields of science, but these increasingly go beyond the adopted topics. Which questions aroused the greatest controversy among viewers, and answering them correctly did not depend solely on knowledge or analysis skills? We are checking.
Questions about celebrities in “Millionaires”? This is not a joke
Certainly, no one expects that a question related to a reality show or its participants will be asked in a general knowledge test. And yet such a situation actually took place in one of the episodes of “Millionaires”. – Małgorzata Rozenek in the “Azja Express” program convinced passengers of a Vietnamese bus that she and her fiancé were Polish:
A. Hiltons
B. Beckhams
C. Cardahians
D. Trumps
– the host, not hiding his dismay, as this was neither an important nor particularly interesting issue. Of course, in this case, the correct answer was B. Another time, the participant had to think a bit to guess what the American celebrity was thinking about when choosing a name for one of her children. – Which cardinal direction inspired Kim Kardashian to name her daughter?
A. east
B. west
C. north
D. noon
– Urbański presented the proposed variants, of which option C was the right one.
Finishing the text or pointing out the correct line is also a common tactic of the creators when formulating questions to “Millionaires”. However, the choice of song is not always right, especially since the episodes are aimed not only at adult viewers, but also at younger audiences. – What appears in a song from Karolina Czarnecka’s repertoire next to hera, coca and hash? – was one of the questions that viewers found controversial.
A. glue
B. mushrooms
C.THC
D. LSD
The last variant proposed by the presenter was correct.
It wasn’t just the participants who were distracted. These are the most absurd questions from “Millionaires”
There were many moments in the history of the program when he was clearly embarrassed or disgusted, and after reading the question to the participant, his face involuntarily showed embarrassment. This was also the case when the topic concerned a certain part of the human body. – How many letters is the place where the back loses its noble name?
A. three
B four
C. five
D. six
– he read, trying to keep a straight face. After a short thought, which was not particularly necessary in this situation, the competitor indicated option B, which was actually correct. Still, for a long moment he was surprised and looked visibly embarrassed. Sometimes consternation also results from the belief that the question has been constructed incorrectly or that an error has crept in. Here is one of many such examples:
Mirki and:
A. Węgierki
B. Ulena
C. greengages
D. Mirabelle
Both the host and the participant facing this puzzle did not quite know what we were talking about. Only later it turned out that “wypok” is a reference, or rather a joking term, to the popular Internet portal Wykop.pl, while the question concerned its community called “mirka” and “mirabelle”.
