Spotless cutlery in seconds. All you need are 2 things you have at home. “Magic Happens”

This is one of the most famous methods used by our grandmothers to clean silver cutlery, jewelry and decorative elements. It costs less than PLN 5 and “works like a charm”. Internet users assure that it is well known to them and they have never been disappointed.

The times have come when store shelves are full of food, hygiene and chemical products. We also have the impression that being eco-friendly is becoming more and more fashionable and the desire to look for savings in various areas is becoming more and more popular, and therefore, we use proven methods and ask our mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers about their home tricks. We want to know how they coped with cleaning various surfaces and objectswhat methods there were to bring order to the house and we test everything one by one, hoping that it will also work in our homes.

A proven home method for clean cutlery

Nice and well-kept cutlery is essential. Nobody wants to eat a meal with dirty or tarnished forks and spoons. Unfortunately, long-term use may result in ugly stains and dirt. Sometimes the dishwasher is also the culprit. There are at least a few home and very simple treatments that can help us restore the cleanliness and former shine of our cutlery. The most popular and easiest method recommended by our grandmothers requires only 2 things: silverware and baking soda. We line the bottom of the container with silverware, then pour hot water, enough to immerse the cutlery in it, and finally add a package of baking soda and wait until it dissolves. We can also add a pinch of salt to the resulting solution, but this is not obligatory. Just dip the cutlery in water for a few seconds and then take it out to dry – kitchen tongs will come in handy when removing it so you don’t get burned.

“My mom has been doing this for 70 years…”

Thanks to the reaction that takes place in water, immersed cutlery becomes clean in no time. Some people say that to make them shiny, they add a few tablespoons of vinegar to the water. After the cutlery dries, they polish it with a cotton cloth and enjoy its charm. This operation should be repeated at least once a month or once every two months. It doesn’t take much time and costs much less than products in stores. Many grandmothers have been using this method for several decades and cannot imagine stopping.

I always use baking soda along with foil and very hot water. Works like a charm.

My mother did this for 70 years every few months.

I have used this method many times, it always works.

I clean all the silver I have this way and I have never been disappointed.

This is crazy, that’s what I did and it worked!!!
