‘BlueScuti’ has become part of the world record of the video game. With only 13 yearsthis American has managed to push the original code of the Tetris. An achievement that had only been previously possible through the use of Artificial Intelligence, never before by a human being. The euphoria for this popular game remains very much alive almost four decades after its publication.
The revitalization of the saga through new titles, formats and competitions has been attracting the attention of players and the public for years. The young man had acquired great prestige in the competitive world. From his own channel streaming40 minutes after starting the game, the pieces stopped falling and he burst into a scream of euphoria: he had just become the first person in history to complete the game.
Your Creator, Alexey Pajitnov, designed it in 1984 with the intention that from level 29 onwards it would be almost impossible to finish, increasing the speed at which the pieces fell. The original logic of the developers responded to that of the arcades, seeking to make players invest more and more coins to overcome the challenge. It was, with the incorporation of this title to the first consoles, when fans began to experiment with new mechanics with which to overcome these drawbacks.
In recent years, the community of speed running(players exploring methods to beat levels in increasingly faster ways) made enormous strides around Pajitnov’s work. They discovered that by pressing commands very quickly, using the recoil of the springs inside the original hands, they could make the blocks move to the desired location sooner. The possibility of reaching the final screen began to be glimpsed. However, there were more drawbacks.
The original scheme is relatively simple. The game determines the colors of each level based on a Cartesian axis. In one of them are the main colors, in the other the complementary ones. As the game progresses, the machine chooses what the pieces will be like in each level. A rudimentary system, but in keeping with a time when the world of video games was beginning to dream of the power that most consoles have today. Starting at level 157, the original game code runs out of content to put on the screen. The pieces stop and the game ends. Although no one had been able to see it with their own eyes before, until now.
