A 72-year-old resident of the village of Pawliszcze in the Lublin Voivodeship was trapped in her own house. The son, who had not had contact with his mother for several days, notified the police. When the officers arrived at the scene, they heard a cry for help.

The woman lived alone and had no neighbors around because they left many years ago. She spent Christmas alone. And it was then, on Christmas Eve, that the 72-year-old woman went to the attic to get something from it, and the door slammed behind her. She spent six days without water or food. She was saved by the police.

My son, who lives on the other side of Poland, raised the alarm. He claimed that he had no contact with his mother and asked them to check if something bad had happened to her. The officers who arrived at the senior citizen’s home heard someone calling for help. The woman must have heard a car approaching the property and screamed to get attention. — The house looked as if no one lived there, empty and silent. The senior was exhausted. She hid under the bags and waited for help

The police entered the attic and found a 72-year-old woman lying under plastic bags, having been without water or food for 6 days. They called an ambulance because she was cold and exhausted. The temperature she stayed in for those few days was around 7 degrees Celsius. — She was conscious, but with limited contact. (…) She said she wanted to bring something from the attic, but the door slammed and she couldn’t open it, explained the policeman.
