Michał Rachoń’s show “#Jedziemy” quickly moved to TV Republika after the first changes were made to public media. Former star of the so-called national media, he immediately evacuated to a friendly station, where he took up the position of program director. And the new version of the program is actually the same as what public media viewers have been watching in recent years, but there is one change!
Well, the broadcast time has changed. Those who remember that the program was broadcast on TVP Info shortly after seven in the morning may be surprised when they turn on TV Republika at this time. At this time, the station is broadcasting the Holy Mass from Jasna Góra, and the Rachoń program “leaves” only at 7:35 and is the first news program of the day on the station. Because before the service is broadcast, teleshopping is broadcast.
TV Republika is like a barrel organ, TV Republika is like a broken record. “Tusk has often missed the truth”
Today’s edition of the program was a “special edition”, and the host’s guests were well-known commentators from the days of the old TVP Info, i.e.: musician and former presenter of radio Trójka Jędrzej Kodymowski, rapper Maciej Gnatowski, whom most people know under the pseudonym Wujek Samo Zło, and the “most famous” satirist recent days, i.e. Jan Pietrzak.
Yesterday we informed that due to his scandalous words about Poland accepting migrants, which were made on this station, two large brands decided to end the broadcast of their advertising spots on TV Republika. However, its managers feel harassed because of this and do not think about changing their approach to providing information. The owner of the channel called for a boycott of the Swedish company.
However, the satirist, “steadfast anti-communist” and “victim of German crimes in Poland” can still say whatever he wants on this channel. Pietrzak even thanked the host during the broadcast of today’s “Jedziemy”, saying that TV Republika is very patient with him. And Thursday’s edition of the Rachonia program revolved around several topics: “flood of migrants”, Donald Tusk, “attack on public media” and Tomasz Grodzki.
They look at the hands of the authorities. But for eight years they did exactly the same thing, just under a different name
It started by breaking down all the words of Donald Tusk from yesterday’s press conference, which concerned the migration pact. Although the Prime Minister announces that Poland will not want to agree to the forced admission of migrants, because so far it has accepted a lot of people from Ukraine who fled the country in the face of war, “independent television” does not accept this.
He says that nothing has been agreed on this issue, and that due to Tusk’s government, our country is facing danger, because if such an agreement is reached, it may be “at the expense of loosening the protection of the borders with Belarus.” Rachoń also referred to the reports of “Gazeta Polska Dzień”, which, incidentally, is the media patron of the program, which show that the documents signed by the government only contain a comment that indicates what Donald Tusk says.
The station’s employees also perceive the word “manipulation” differently. Michał Rachoń pointed out that the Prime Minister’s statement about TV Republika, which took place at this conference, was also outrageous. He points out that it is an attack on the “free media” because he started talking about it himself, and yet no one asked him a question. Later, he praised the station’s journalist Paweł Błoch, whom he called talented because he dared to make his “appeal” to the Prime Minister of Poland, asking for respect for Pietrzak and defending his employer.
Jan Pietrzak is a national hero of TV Republika. Everything that is bad is manipulation
A lot of news, right? And this is only less than 15 minutes of the program. Before the above-mentioned appeared on the screen. guests, Rachoń reproached Tusk for breaking the law regarding the seizure of power in the public media, calling him the “dictator of martial law” and calling his “lectures” impudent. Other media in Poland have also come under attack as they support Tusk and can even be “manually controlled” by him, thanks to which they “manipulate public opinion.”
When the monologue ended, the host introduced today’s commentators. But before any of them took the floor, Rachoń asked not to continue the thread of “attacks” on TV Republika, because they result from jealousy of the great viewership results. The first to speak, of course, was Jan Pietrzak, who, before taking up the topic of the migration pact, wanted to say something from himself:
I have been personally affected. I am the object of a persecution, which I experienced many times in the Polish People’s Republic. When it was written about me that I was a fascist, I wrote the ‘anthem of Polish fascism’ so that ‘Poland would be Poland’ according to the instructions of Moscow truth. I was attacked many times during martial law by different people. Here comes a new mysterious statement by Prime Minister Tusk. Namely, he discovered that I was an anti-Semite. I have no idea on what evidence and examples he used to declare me an anti-Semite, so he just rambles on without any basis. (…) He doesn’t remember that there is a rule that a person can say whatever he likes. (…)
– I have very personal views on relations with Germany, because I come from the generation that experienced the world war started by the Germans. [Jan Pietrzak urodził się w 1937 roku – przyp. red.]. I have witnesses behind me! Six million Poles murdered by the Germans. This justifies me that I can talk about Polish-German matters properly and never exaggerate, because I was a supporter of reconciliation with Germany when such a prospect arose. I was in favor of the best possible relations, as with all nations. I am open to the world, I am not an anti-Semite or a xenophobe, as they tell me. In a word, Mr. Editor, this is a kind of manipulation that is difficult to explain in such a few minutes of conversation. I would like to point out that manipulation is taking place not only in my case, but in all Polish matters… – Pietrzak continued.
“National media are supposed to show what is important to the nation.” Some people think so too
After the satirist’s very long explanations, the other guests had very little time to speak. Each of them briefly commented on the conference with Tusk’s participation and agreed with the host, and after 8 a.m., former Secretary of State of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister from the United Right government, Adam Andruszkiewicz, appeared on the station’s air. In the interview with the politician, the migration pact was still discussed, and the interlocutor was very critical of the actions of the new government. – In my opinion, Donald Tusk’s credibility in politics is close to zero – shouted the PiS MP.
Another topic that Rachoń and his guest discussed was the former Speaker of the Senate, Tomasz Grodzki. An indictment was filed against the senator by the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Szczecin. It shows that, with Grodzki’s consent, one of the hospitals in Szczecin committed corruption and took money from patients so that they could be treated there outside the queue. Grodzki believes that these are “the last moves of the PiS prosecutor’s office”, but TV Republika’s interlocutors had a different opinion.
After the commercial break, the commentators returned and in the last part of the program they mainly discussed the defense of public media. Thanks to them, I learned what the real “national media” are. After more than an hour spent with this station, I can say that such media simply provide “the best point of view on Polish affairs”, which is always and everywhere – as seen and heard – represented by Law and Justice. Rachoń also encouraged people to participate in numerous demonstrations in defense of public media in their old form.
He ended the program with the words “we are the home of freedom of speech”, and later I once again had the opportunity to see the recordings of the above-mentioned. protests that TV Republika constantly broadcasts in the form of self-promotion. They present numerous demonstrations from many cities in Poland, during which worried viewers complain about the government’s actions. – We have the right to speak our own opinion, to listen to the statements and different versions of journalists. I don’t want anyone to limit me. I want to choose what I want to listen to – said one of the protesters on January 2 in Gdańsk.
