Szczecinek’s most popular cat has died. Camper crossed the Rainbow Bridge

The inhabitants of Szczecinek loved him. This is not surprising, because the nice, black and white kitten Camper had a friendly disposition and accompanied them on their trips almost every day by public transport. Unfortunately, it turned out that on January 2, the travelers’ furry favorite died.

His black and white face, friendly look and sweet face were his characteristics. A kitten named Camper was extremely popular in his hometown of Szczecinek. He could easily be called the most famous resident of this city, who would easily melt any, even the most “cat-skeptical” heart. Unfortunately, the beloved pet died on January 2. The direct cause of his death has not yet been made public.

The incredible story of the completely unique Camper cat was publicized in 2020 by the local portal Szczecinek.com. After Patryk Witczuk’s article, the furry quadruped became famous all over Poland. There were appeals and appeals from everywhere to help the animal. Contrary to fears, the kitten was not homeless at all. It had its loving owner.

His house was located close to… a bus stop, where the cat loved to stay! As we can read, he often came to the PaweÅ‚ II/Podwale bus stop and was an absolute favorite of those using public transport. He had his own little bed there, blankets and bowls.

The beloved cat of Szczecinek residents, Camper, has died

Camper’s owner – as we learn from the publication Szczecinek.com – had previously adopted him from a shelter. The portal notes that since then, the City Guard has taken the kitten from the bus stop and taken it to the shelter several times, but the cat always returns to its “post”.

Unfortunately, not this time. A reader of the website informed the editorial office that on January 1, 2024, the animal was taken away again by the City Guard. Already in the evening it was noticed that the kitten’s behavior was not as usual. According to unofficial reports, city guards noticed on monitoring that the animal had problems with movement. Emergency officers took the dog to the shelter. On January 2, information appeared that Camperek was dead.

As we mentioned, it is not known how he died. However, the portal reported that the animal did not have injuries typical of, for example, an accident. There is a possibility that fireworks released on New Year’s Eve may have contributed to the cat’s death. Despite annual appeals from animal owners, foundations acting on their behalf and some politicians, many people are still unaware of the deadly threat that New Year’s Eve and exploding firecrackers pose to animals.
