Keegan-Michael Key, who played the role of an inquisitive police chief in the film “Wonka”, told in one of the interviews how his wife reacted to the film’s make-up. It turns out that the actress’s partner was not thrilled at all. She even forbade him to return home.

“Wonka”, a prequel to “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, hit Polish cinemas on December 14, 2023. Keegan-Michael Key played one of the main characters. The actor played a police chief who gains more and more weight over time. The members of the film crew wanted to show the hero’s transformation as best as possible. The actor had to wear a fake belly, a mustache and gloves that looked like huge human hands. “They were literally hand-shaped gloves, I put my hands in my hands, which made them look bigger, wider and thicker,” he said in an interview for People magazine.

During a break from filming, Keegan-Michael Key went to his trailer to video chat with his wife. My partner’s reaction turned out to be very telling. “For the first time, I put on the fake belly and the rest of the make-up and returned to the trailer, still wearing the mustache.
