Adamczeja is a quiet and rather muddy heroine of the series “”. Although the photos were not shot there, the name is not accidental and is really related to the real Adamczej from the Masovian Voivodeship. “Fakt” talked to the village head.
‘1670’. Mayor of Adamczycha about the fame of the town
The real Adamczycha and the TV series have two things in common – the name and the fact that there are houses and inhabitants there. However, there are many indications that the real one, which you can reach from Warsaw in about 2.5 hours, is inhabited by fewer people than Adamczeja from the series “1670”. Less than 50 people live in today’s real one, near Ostrołęka. The village lent the name to the series cottages by accident – Jakub Rurzałło, the screenwriter, is responsible for it.
From what Kuba said, he simply liked the name. He traced the map with his finger and this name caught his eye. There is no hidden meaning or mystery associated with this choice – said Kordian Kądziela, co-director of “1670”, in an interview with the portal dziennik.org.pl.
A reporter from “Fakt” came to the real Adamczycha. He had the opportunity to talk to the village headwoman, who has been serving for the third term. Mrs. Bożena Grzyb does not hide that she looks forward to the popularity of “1670”:
I see young people leaving for the city and the village is slowly becoming depopulated. I’m afraid that our name may disappear from the map altogether. We have no tourist attractions here. There is no lake or river. However, we can offer beautiful nature, clean air and soothing silence – says Adamczej.

Serialowa Adamczeja consists of a dozen or so huts scattered around the village, connected by a muddy dirt floor. Of course, the photos were not shot in the real Adamczysze. The wonderfully maintained open-air museum in Kolbuszowa was used, which has already served as a filming location for historical films and TV series many times. The existing buildings were used and care was taken to make Kolbuszowa come to life as a village divided between two feuding owners.
