They returned from church and saw a letter from the owner of the apartment. They didn’t expect this on Christmas

When the tenants saw the envelope with a message from the landlord, they were speechless. They expected that just before Christmas, they would be disappointed and the rent would increase. Meanwhile, history turned out differently.

The end of the year is the time when many landlords inform their tenants about the increase in fees. No wonder an Australian couple expected bad news when they saw a letter from the owner on their doormat. Their story was described on the website.

They came back from church and found a note on the doorstep

The incident took place just before Christmas. The tenants returned from church and saw a note on the doormat in front of the front door with a message from the owner of the apartment. To their surprise, they found no mention of a rent increase in the letter.

Instead, the sheet of paper was accompanied by $50, or approximately PLN 140. The man thanked them for their presence and support in taking care of the apartment last year. “Have a peaceful and Merry Christmas. Happy New Year,” the man wrote. “It was a beautiful and well-thought-out gesture. God bless him,” emphasized the happy tenants.

The owner of the apartment delighted Internet users. “We need more people like this”

The apartment owner’s gesture was widely commented on social media. “We need more people like this in the world. It’s wonderful,” we read in the comments. It turns out that this practice is common in Australia. “We give gift baskets to tenants every year”, “My landlord reduced the rent by $50 a week this month”, “We always do this. Without long-term tenants, renting would be a nightmare,” we read in the comments quoted by the Daily Mail.
