Years ago, he was predicted to have a great career, which was interrupted by his fight against alcohol addiction. Fortunately, he has been victorious for almost 3 decades and is also triumphant in his private life.

Lech Dyblik was born in 1956 in Złocieniec and in 1983 at the State Higher Theater School in Kraków. It was an introduction for him not only to acting on the big screen, but also to the theater and the world of songs. He gained wider recognition in films such as “Wedding Night in Broad Daylight”, “Kroll” and “Psy 2. The Last Blood” by Władysław Pasikowski. But he also collaborated with foreign directors, such as in “The Painted Bird” by Vaclav Marhoul, a film adaptation of Jerzy Kosiński’s novel, which was very controversial in Poland. He also became famous for his role as the scrapper Badura in “Świat dla Kiepskich”.

However, his promising career was interrupted by alcohol addiction, which discouraged not only directors but also himself. Years later, the actor does not hide the fact that he even considered taking his own life, but his desire to become a better person and his faith in God stopped him.

Before I started treatment, I thought suicide would be the best idea. I thought my life had no meaning, it was a waste of effort. I thank God I didn’t end up with myself. It turned out that my life is attractive and full of satisfaction!

– He confessed years ago in an interview with Aleteia.

He admitted that he was at a disadvantage not only because of his weakness, but also because of the situation at home. In an interview with Onet, he said that there was always alcohol in his family home, and his father was always starting fights due to alcoholism. “It was only years later that I looked at this man differently. After all, he grew up in a house where his grandfather drank. How could he have had other patterns of dealing with emotions?” – he confessed.

He chose life and saved his family. Nearly 100 acting roles

Fortunately, he won this fight thanks to therapy, and apart from his acting career, he also saved his marriage. Thanks to the support of his wife, whose identity he never revealed, calling her simply “a young sculpture student”, he also had three children. Today, he can boast of a rich acting portfolio, which includes almost 100 roles in films and series.

It instills hope among those in need. He loves music

His second passion is music, and he cultivates it by playing the guitar and singing, which are a kind of therapy for him. Today, he willingly shares his work and past experiences with people who find themselves in a similar place. It gives hope to those in need in shelters for the homeless, residents of prisons and newcomers to refugee centers. At the end of March this year, he visited prisoners in the prison in Krzywaniec, organizing a speaker’s meeting. Despite his fame, the memory of his “worst days” makes people admire his humility, modesty, and selflessness in bringing joy to people in need.
