For people who rarely travel by train, seat numbering may seem a bit complicated. How to decipher which seat we should take if we travel in a carriage with compartments? Instead of stressing out, it’s worth knowing about some useful signs. You should look at the number found on the ticket. The first digit indicates the compartment number and the second the seat number assigned to us. But how do you know whether it is at the entrance, inside or by the window? It was done as follows:

• numbers 1 and 2 indicate places located along the corridor;
• numbers 5 and 6 indicate seats located next to the window;
• the numbers 3, 4, 7 and 8 represent the places in the middle.
