Cabarets not only entertain their audiences, but also try to comment on the reality around us. In recent years, comedians have increasingly used political topics in their sketches, which resulted in the disappearance of popular cabarets from two stations. First, and then from Polsat.
Robert Górski does not see any changes in public media after the revolution
is one of the most popular Polish cabaret artists, who has repeatedly impersonated leading Polish politicians in skits and mocked TVP propaganda. In an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM, he commented on the revolution in public media. He admitted that he did not see any changes or improvement.
The comedian has not yet watched the new TVP news program “19:30”, which wanted to distance itself from the propaganda of the previous team by changing its name. Therefore, Górski is unable to assess whether the creators actually succeeded.
“Nothing has changed for the better”
The comedian is disappointed with the lack of “Teleexpress”. “I tried to watch ‘Teleexpress’ yesterday, so I turned on the TV at 5 p.m., but there was no ‘Teleexpress’,” he complained in an interview via WP.
“From my point of view, nothing has changed for the better, maybe it hasn’t gotten worse, but they played a song by Pectus called ‘Barcelona’, which I don’t like very much, so I think it’s the wrong way,” he joked.
There was also a question about Górski’s return to TVP, which was renewed by the new authorities. The comedian emphasized that he did not rule out such a possibility, but wanted to emphasize that times have changed and television appearances are not the only way to reach viewers.
“This reflected TV is attractive because there are no ads. I would love to come back, but above all, I don’t have to be on any TV […]. I’m not a TV slave.” The cabaret artist said that he is working on more sketches, performing live, and also focusing on creating a new radio play.
