A good and helpful neighbor is a real treasure. However, not everyone is lucky that a friendly person lives next door. A 30-year-old woman whose neighbor was stealing parcels experienced this perfectly well. She decided to teach her a lesson.

We hear about disputes between neighbors quite often. They argue about the plot being too noisy or the noise caused by renovation. It sometimes happens that people living in the same block or neighboring properties do something to spite each other, but usually these are innocent neighborly sins. However, this story shows that it is better not to cross a certain line.

“New York Post” the story of a 30-year-old woman, which she shared on Reddit. She put the neighbors she was friends with on her list of trusted people. This allowed them to receive parcels when she was not at home. When they moved out, their house was taken over by a woman and her 9-year-old son. The 30-year-old reported to the post office that she should no longer deliver parcels to her neighbors’ addresses, but this was not noted everywhere. As a result, several parcels were delivered to the new neighbor. – When I went to pick them up, she denied having them or handed me an already opened package, giving the excuse that her son had accidentally opened it, she said. To expose her, she ordered a tarantula. The screams coming from her neighbor’s house after opening the parcel and seeing the spider confirmed her belief that she was a parcel thief. The neighbor was terrified and after the whole situation she confessed that she suffered from arachnophobia.

Can the courier leave the parcel with neighbors? The law is clear

Redirecting a parcel to a neighbor is a common practice. While this may seem like a natural thing to do, it is actually against the law. According to postal law, the shipping company should leave the parcel with the addressee, the addressee’s legal representative or attorney, an adult person residing with the addressee, a person authorized to collect postal items at a public authority office or the head of an organizational unit or a natural person authorized by him.
