Paweł Płuska will replace the head of “Wiadomości” Danuta Holecka – this information was obtained by Business Insider Polska. Płuska has been associated with the TVN station since 2022, where he prepared materials for the main editions of “Fakty”. The journalist was supposed to have already resigned and the last service with his participation was broadcast a few days ago.
The changes in TVP are naturally the result of PiS losing the elections. After taking power eight years ago, Law and Justice quickly introduced changes in the state media. Politician Jacek Kurski became the head of TVP, and Danuta Holecka, who had been working with TVP for years, became the head of “Wiadomości”. It was during her term that “Wiadomości” turned into a propaganda mouthpiece for the government. Unofficially, it is known that Holecka has already resigned and will present her last “Wiadomości” on Tuesday, December 12.
Since the election lost by PiS, TVP has been preparing for a thorough revolution. Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz is to become the Minister of Culture – Donald Tusk was to entrust him with the mission of “cleaning up” the Polish Television. This clean-up includes replacing the heads of individual news programs and entire editorial offices. Paweł Płuska is to fend off the party “Wiadomości”, Grzegorz Sajór – TAI, Tomasz Sygut – Polish Radio. According to Wirtualne Media, the current heads of TVP and Polskie Radio – Mateusz Matyszkowicz and Agnieszka Kamińska – will be replaced by liquidators.
“Wiadomości” is working hard to defend the status quo
Monday’s “Wiadomości” included the obligatory material, i.e. “in defense of the public media”. The editorial office has already received rumors about Paweł Płuska’s transfer. The main edition of the news program recalled how a recording of a journalist who parodied John Paul II was leaked – later in the video, which was not shown in “Wiadomości”, Płuska also speaks in the voice of Bogusław Linda and Waldemar Pawlak. The recording was, of course, supposed to show “what kind of people” will now take over TVP. No more compromising materials were found against Paweł Płuska.
