Although more than 5 years have passed since Kora Jackowska’s death, her personality still stirs emotions, and fans still cannot come to terms with the loss of their beloved artist. Before the singer Manaam entered the annals of Polish music as one of the most charismatic figures, she was searching for her true identity. Her first love, Ryszard Terlecki, helped her discover it. Ryszard Terlecki is today one of the most important people in Law and Justice, called the “right hand” of Jarosław Kaczyński. However, few would think that his youth has little to do with his current views. Terlecki is an icon of Krakow hippies, and almost everyone knows his nickname from the turn of the 1960s and 1970s, “Pies”. As he mentioned in the book, he was Kora Jackowska’s (actually Olga Sipowicz) first love.
Love like those times. And these were stormy
“I liked her immediately – a slim, beautiful girl, dark long hair in strange braids. She came in a colorful dress, had many different beads around her neck, trinkets and bracelets on her hands. A real hippie. I was a hippie too, but I dressed normally “although… I had a bell around my neck, beads and a headband in my hair” – this is how Terlecki described the beginning of their relationship.
It was in March 1968, during the socio-political crisis caused by one of the parties around the then First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers’ Party, Władysław Gomułka. Among the students actively involved in the conflict were also Terlecki and Jackowska, and it was then that they formed a strong bond. He was so impressed by Kora’s charisma that they were already together in May.

The relationship fell apart with a bang. However, the bond remained
Apart from feelings, other intimate experiences also arose between them. “He encourages experiments, likes strong sensations, and Kora is an absolute debutante,” we read in the book. But apart from her erotic life, the artist had great feelings for him. So much so that she stood up for him during one of the evenings.
Kora is also being interrogated regarding the Dog. She will take the blame and say that she started the fire. It won’t help the dog much, it won’t hurt Kora, but this act of courage itself will impress him. Even more so because their relationship falls apart with a bang.

However, their relationship lasted only a year. Why and how did they break up? It turns out that the artist “felt manipulated”. “Kora feels manipulated, and Rysiek cannot treat women differently. Kora cuts off the toxic relationship – radically and without the possibility of repair. She arranges a public scene: in Krzysztofory, in front of Dog, behind a curtain, makes love with a hippie nicknamed Hugo – an extra from the Stary Theater.
Stanisław Terlecki himself, when asked years later about the reason for breaking up with Kora, said: “I guess it got worn out, the madness we were in for a while, traveling around Poland. Because it was madness. Then Olga had to go back to school, and I wandered around Poland and somehow it fell apart. I myself encouraged her to pass her high school final exams. I don’t think she ever had any doubts about it.”
Meetings after years. He recognized her after some time
However, their paths kept crossing, and after several dozen years of separation, they met each other in 1990 during the presidential elections. Terlecki came across Kora on one of the streets in Krakow. At that time, the singer was involved in Tadeusz Mazowiecki’s election campaign, and a few years later while walking near one of the café gardens. Today’s parliamentarian admits that he did not follow her stage career, which is why he “was left with the image of Black-haired Kora” and got to know her only after some time. Jackowska was blonde then.
