At 10:00 sharp I sat down in front of the TV and turned on the only news station available on terrestrial television, TVP Info. The report began with the entry of reporter Monika Drozd, who became famous for her work in June this year. decided to help Jarosław Kaczyński reach a place where he could hide from journalists who tried to ask the PiS president more questions.
Although initially she provided dry facts, such as the fact that if the current Prime Minister does not obtain a vote of confidence, for the first time in Poland’s history the second constitutional step will be taken to appoint a new government. After a few minutes, she did not fail to make subtle accusations against Donald Tusk and his new government.
Announcing Morawiecki’s exposé, she emphasized that today will be a choice between what is known (and liked) and what existed previously, when the PO-PSL coalition ruled in Poland, referring to a comparison previously made on the station. She mentioned the following: increased retirement age, starvation adjustments for seniors and the lack of 13th and 14th pensions.
A great day on TVP Info. Monika Drozd reports on Morawiecki’s exposé TVP Info promotional materials
The national media employee continued talking for several dozen seconds about the same things we had been hearing for several minutes. Only Andrzej Duda’s entrance into the plenary hall made her visibly happy and changed her tone of voice to a more lively one. However, she left the sight of Lech Wałęsa in a T-shirt with the inscription “constitution” without comment. However, soon after, Mateusz Morawiecki came to the meeting room and the TVP Info employee’s report ended for some time.
Morawiecki delivered an exposé full of pathos like a priest from the pulpit. TVP supports
When Marshal Hołownia had already started the deliberations and MP Suski’s motion was rejected, Mateusz Morawiecki finally took the floor. Then the main work fell to the belt worker, who at times couldn’t keep up with what the Prime Minister was talking about. I will not summarize his entire speech, but he presented, among others: contemporary challenges that Poland faces and which – in his opinion – only the government he created will be able to cope.
Overall, while listening to Morawiecki’s speech, I had the distinct impression that it had been specially prepared for broadcast on TVP Info. The Prime Minister spoke about the eight years of rule of the United Right in only superlatives, and his most important thoughts were highlighted in two strips on the screen. On the main page, with a slight delay, the most important points of his speech were shown, such as:
It is an honor for me to once again be able to talk about the most important issues.
The good of Poland always comes first.
We have made great changes in social policy in Poland.
The second, slightly smaller bar listed those statements that may be offensive to the opposition, e.g. “Prime Minister: We have replaced the Liberal Republic with the Solidarity Republic”, or “Prime Minister: The office can be held for a limited period of time, serving Poland is a forever obligation”.
TVP Info will not fail to point the finger at the opposition (still) during the broadcast of Mateusz Morawiecki’s exposé TVP Info promotional materials
While listening to this exposé, I began to wonder whether future speeches by Law and Justice politicians would also be so pompous, because after the planned changes in TVP Info, they would not have such huge media at their disposal to allow their narrative to break through.
Morawiecki wants to be modern, but does he even believe in it?
But returning to the speech itself, Prime Minister Morawiecki caught my greatest attention when he started talking about the role of women in the modern world. He alluded to the fact that in his home his mother was kissed on the hand by his father every day, but times have changed and he and his party notice it. As part of the so-called decalogue of Polish affairs, he announced that as the future prime minister he would introduce, among others: parental voucher for various infertility treatment methods. And although he didn’t mention abortion at all, all I could think of was this meme:
TVP Info was still detailing Morawiecki’s most important statements, and I felt more and more like I was drifting towards an alternative reality. However, the best part was at the end, when full of pathos he appealed to all MPs to end the Polish-Polish war. “Let’s look for dialogue and what unites us” – he said, probably hoping that these words would make someone suddenly decide to support him in the confidence vote. During the broadcast, the side windows showed the reactions of Jarosław Kaczyński, Andrzej Duda and (sometimes) Donald Tusk.

After the break was announced, I heard Monika Drozd again, who sounded as if she was reading a previously prepared summary of Morawiecki’s exposé from a piece of paper. She kept emphasizing how great the eight years of the United Right’s rule were for Poland, and she said the name of the current prime minister several times in one minute.
After a while, a studio appeared on the TV screen, with an interview with Miłosz Manasterski from the Information Agency, who, as an expert, briefly translated the Prime Minister’s words on Poland’s relations with the European Union. A few minutes later, the broadcast from the Sejm appeared again, where Jarosław Kaczyński began to speak. The politician’s statement was not accompanied by any commentary, and only the most important idea of what he said was shown on the strip.
I believe that the TVP Info team will become a bit more active the closer it gets to 3 p.m. This may turn out to be really invigorating for many people who have so far been very close to the voice of politicians from Nowogrodzka Street. Then, politicians unrelated to Law and Justice will appear much more often at the parliamentary rostrum, and their words will certainly be employees of the so-called They will not be able to leave the national media without comment!
