Pets can be difficult to keep. Even tiny mice or guinea pigs sometimes require a lot of attention, and sometimes also financial input. When owners cannot provide this, they look for a solution. As a last resort, when they are unable to do so, they decide to give it to good hands or even to a shelter. However, many people take shortcuts. To the forest or the trash can.

A live guinea pig ended up in the trash

A guinea pig was recently found in a garbage can. This information appeared on the Facebook page of the Wrocław shelter, where the animal came directly from the hands of a man who was not blind to its harm. As we read in the information:

Can you imagine leaving any living creature to die in this cold? Neither do we, and yet it’s happening… A few days ago we received this homemade coffee, which a person decided to throw away in foil and cosmetics in the plastic bin. All this happened on Księż Mały, on ul. Brochowska. Fortunately, the bald baby was found by a man who was collecting scrap metal.

Indeed, it is difficult to elegantly respond to throwing a live animal to certain death in such a brutal manner, especially when it is frosty outside. Fortunately, however, this whole situation has a happy ending. And it’s double. The shelter employees drew attention not only to the harm done to the animal, but also to the good heart of Mr. Piotr, who found the pig. It turned out that with his last money he bought her hay and brought it to the shelter – which was located on the other side of the city.

The facility’s employees decided to help him too. They organized a collection of things that might be useful to him, including clothes and food. There was a whole avalanche of warm comments under the post. Many people supported the collection, as we can see in the post published a few days later. We managed to collect the necessary things and also helped with work.

Yesterday, as promised, Mr. Piotr visited us. He was very happy with the things you donated for him. The situation is touching for us, because we are dealing with a good, modest and sensitive man who needs support, although he does not demand it.
