Maciej Kurzajewski is one of the most popular journalists and presenters in Poland. Although he regularly appears on the screen, few people know how his adventure with the profession actually began. It turns out that his father, Czes³aw Kurzajewski, had a huge influence on this.

Despite its unflagging popularity, it protects the privacy of itself and its loved ones. However, he never hid that his family was his greatest support and pride. To some extent, he owes his career to his parents, especially his father. Czesław Kazimierz Kurzajewski was a distinguished politician and .

In 1979, he graduated from the Extramural Vocational Study at the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science of the University of Warsaw, although he had started his career 13 years earlier as a radio and television correspondent. He also worked in the editorial office of the weekly “Kaliski Włókniarz”, where he served as secretary and deputy editor-in-chief, and then joined the biweekly “Delta”, where he served as a publicist.

Not just a journalist. Czesław Kurzajewski was also a politician

A career in the media was not Czesław Kurzajewski’s only occupation. The journalist was also interested in politics, as a result of which in 1980 he joined the Independent Self-Governing Trade Union “Solidarity”. When it was announced, he was fired from both editorial offices he was associated with, so he tried to support his family by working, among others, as a purchasing agent for secondary raw materials.

Ultimately, he returned to his passion and profession, finding employment as an editor of trade union magazines. In the meantime, he also served as secretary of the Citizens’ Committee in the Kalisz Voivodeship, and in 1989 he was elected to the Sejm of the 10th term. During this time, he became a member of the Civic Parliamentary Club and worked, among others, in the Health Committee or the Youth, Physical Culture and Sport Committee. Ultimately, after 2 years, he withdrew from politics to fully focus on journalism. Czesław Kurzajewski died on May 12, 2019 after a long struggle with illness. He was then just under 75 years old.
