When PiS lost/won the elections, there was panic on TVP. Some employees try to settle into their positions, some leave on their own. The latter is said to include the head of “”, who in recent years has been the face of changes and politicization on Polish Television.
In an interview with the former president of TVP, Juliusz Braun, Wirtualna Polska asked about the future fate of public media employees. The former head of Telewizja Polska talks about the need for changes, but also warns.

In an interview with Wirtualna Polska, Juliusz Braun – president of TVP until 2015 – did not hide the fact that Telewizja Polska urgently needs changes. Blocked by the only correct worldview, presenting the views of only one side, in recent years TVP has ceased to be “public” television for all citizens, and has become a government mouthpiece. A change in this respect is necessary:
We need to talk seriously about all these problems, including ideological ones, and present various arguments. That’s what public television is for, to present the broadest possible horizons. This is not just about guaranteeing a certain number of seats in the journalistic program for politicians. It’s about the possibility of a serious conversation between people representing different sensitivities – social, cultural, those who are more progressive and those who are more traditional. This must be respected, Braun said.
When asked by the program host about the future fate of Danuta Holecka, he commented briefly: “She seems to have fired herself.” At the same time, he warned against possibly leaving her in her position, but also against a revenge:
(If she stayed at TVP – editor’s note) This would show that Holecka only reads what is written on the prompter. That would take away credibility from other people. It seems to me that it is important that the new person or people running “Wiadomości” respect the sensitivity of different people. I would caution against trying to turn it 180 degrees. It cannot be that a strongly PiS propagandist will be replaced by a strongly left-wing propagandist, he concluded.
