And there would be nothing extraordinary about it, were it not for the fact that the Speaker of the Sejm was given a red filter, already known from this television. Young people love the new marshal. TVP is not to my taste
Hołownia’s statements were used in the plywood, including: “I like the theater, but the repertoire is not always to my liking”, “stock up on some popcorn” or do I fulfill a slightly different function now, I am the Speaker of the Sejm and I do not participate in the work on draft bills.” Then we hear the words of a narrator who talks about the meeting youth in the Sejm with the Speaker of the Sejm: “Grandma and grandpa squealed at the sight of the Beatles, mom and dad watched Modern Talking, and they greeted the Speaker of the Sejm. You look and you don’t know whether it’s the Speaker of the Sejm or maybe Jay-Z.” Or maybe Gen Z?
But it is not the words, but the image that attracts the most attention. Internet users immediately noticed the unnatural, red filter placed on Hołownia’s face. This is not the first time that TVP has learned the basics of graphics. This motif is already known from the station’s presentation of Donald Tusk, the leader of PO and the future prime minister.
This is not new. Tusk also became… a devil
In 2021, a recording of Tusk’s conference appeared on TVP Info’s social media, edited to make the politician look like… a devil. Behind Tusk’s head, a fragment of the PO logo was visible (it resembled horns), like a smile embedded in the contour of Poland. The red color of his face only complemented the entire optical effect.
Internet users, of course, left no stone unturned on TVP. “The red filter is already there, but where are the horns?”, “For almost PLN 3 billion a year, you can’t use another filter? Photos like from the Polish People’s Republic”, “And what is this red filter for? It has bloody associations. Have you pissed yourself yet?” – we read in the comments. It is worth adding that the image on other stations’ cameras was normal, without a noticeable red glow.
The question is whether we will see the effect of creating a “crosshair”? Let us recall that one of the most frequently shown frames of Donald Tusk by Telewizja Polska was a “throw” onto the camera’s viewing monitor, positioned so that the two intersecting lines fell perfectly on the PO politician’s body. Station employees have less and less time to repeat Hołownia…
