When Piekarczyk was 27 years old, he lost his son Michał shortly after birth. was born earlier than expected and required special care from doctors. However, that same night, the hospital staff organized a party in the ward. Michałek died, which was allegedly caused by negligence.

Michał was born a little earlier and they put him in an incubator. The same night, from Saturday to Sunday, he died. They just had a party in the ward and didn’t take care of it. Then I couldn’t see my child, those were stupid times

He bribed an employee of the mortuary to see his son after his death

Marek Piekarczyk confessed that in order to see his son’s body, which was important to him, he had to bribe an employee of the mortuary.

I gave him 50 zlotys and he opened the coffin. A beautiful, wonderful, wonderful boy. Beautiful features, long fingers, he looked like an angel

– he recalled. During the funeral, the artist himself carried his son’s coffin. Although he initially wanted to sue the doctors, he later decided to forgive them.

When I said at the graveside ‘we forgive our sinners’, I forgave them.

Despite this, Piekarczyk and his partner Ewa could not come to terms with the death of their child for a long time. Although they were going through a crisis, they got married and their two children were born – Maciej and Sonia. However, the couple broke up after two decades.
