There has been a lot of talk about MP Jakub Rutnicki in recent days due to a really “hot” day in the Sejm. Few people know that in the past he tried his hand at a completely different role. He participated in the first edition of “Idol”.

Thursday, November 29, was an extremely stormy day in the Polish parliament. During the meeting, there were almost fistfights between the conflicting politicians. One of the people taking part in the “tablet battle” was Jakub Rutnicki from the Civic Platform. However, before he entered politics, he had a career in the music industry. Jakub Rutnicki has been involved in political activities for over 2 decades. He started as a councilor of the Szamotulski district in the years 2002-2005, after which he became a member of the Sejm for the first time, running from the Piła district on behalf of the Civic Platform. He was also a member of parliament for the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th terms. This time he was again in parliament.

A show in another dimension. Before politics there was “Idol”

However, at the age of 23, he dreamed of fame in the music world and decided to try his hand at “Idol”. It was the first edition of the program (2002), which quickly became a bestseller among viewers and in the following years created such stars as Monika Brodka, Alicja Janosz, Ania Dąbrowska and Krzysztof Zalewski.

However, the competition in all editions was huge, so not everyone could “grab God by the legs”. Rutnicki passed the qualifying rounds and even made it to the final ten. However, he was quickly eliminated during the auditions, although he managed to appear on TV.

He actively works for the region. Organizes football tournaments

In the following years, dreams of fame faded into the background, and the current parliamentarian successfully fulfilled his new role. He actively participated in local affairs, especially those related to sports. He has been organizing the “Rutnicki Cup” football tournaments for over a decade, and also coordinated the program for the construction of Orliki (football pitches) in Greater Poland. He is also an expert in obtaining EU funds and even conducts training in this field.
