Regardless of whether you have a short-pile carpet or a shaggy carpet at home, you need to keep it clean on a regular basis. The basic thing is vacuuming, but that’s not all. A dirty, dusty carpet looks very sloppy and discourages guests. Contrary to appearances, you don’t need a vacuum cleaner or a bucket of water.
Dry cleaning of carpets. Home remedies are better than detergents
The carpet should be vacuumed at least twice a week. This is the first and basic stage of cleaning the carpet. Thanks to this, there are no crumbs or dirt left in it. While a small rug can be washed in a washing machine or by hand, the problem begins when the rug covers the entire room or most of it.
The best choice is to clean it dry, i.e. without using water. Instead of buying special powders in the store, use natural ingredients to create detergent. You will eliminate unpleasant odors and stains.

Dry cleaning the carpet with baking soda. Sprinkle and leave for a few hours
The powder you have prepared should soak into the carpet fibers and dissolve the dirt. The best solution is baking soda, which is an ingredient of many detergents. First, vacuum the carpet thoroughly and then sprinkle the entire surface with baking soda. One sachet should be enough. In places where you see larger stains, rub baking soda with a dry sponge. Leave for three hours and vacuum the carpet again. You can also use table salt instead of baking soda. The second option is to mix 2 cups of potato starch with 5 tablespoons of soap flakes. The mixture should be combed into the pile of the carpet, left for 30 minutes and vacuumed.
