Sue and Alex Tatham met 35 years ago and were the first couple to take part in a television program that was once popular in Poland, “Blind Dates”. Their wedding took place in 1991 and was broadcast in a special episode on television and was watched by over 17.5 million viewers. The man recalls that during the program he had a choice of numbers 1, 2 and 3. He gave up numbers 1 and 3 and that’s how he saw number 2 – his current wife. According to him, she is still as beautiful after 35 years as when he first saw her. Sue added that Alex is still very nice and makes her laugh as much as he used to.
What is the secret of their love?
The couple recalls how stressed they were while recording the episode. They really haven’t seen each other before. Sue remembers her legs shaking from stress and the thought “if only he were taller than me” in her head. When they saw each other, they clearly liked each other. The first two years of their relationship were difficult, they were miles apart and only saw each other on weekends. When asked about the secret of love, they answer that they have always been each other’s greatest friends. They also have two children, and recently celebrated a special evening by eating dinner and watching a performance of Romeo and Juliet at the London Opera House. This is how they celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary, called the “pearl anniversary”.
