Rafa³ Rêkosiewicz is dead. As the Silesian Blues Trail reported on Facebook, the artist died on November 26 at the age of 75. During his musical career, he collaborated with, among others, Dżem, Leszek Winder and Martyna Jakubowicz.

Rafał Rekosiewicz was a composer, poet, songwriter and translator of texts. Born in 1947, the artist collaborated with various bands and soloists during his musical career, including Dżem, Martyna Jakubowicz, Leszek Winder, Cree, Jan Kyks Skrzek. Rekosiewicz also translated Bob Dylan’s poetry. In 2017, he published an art print, which was published in an edition of 55 copies and was never officially sold.

Information about the musician’s death was provided by the Silesian Blues Trail. “An excellent musician, composer, playing the Hammond organ. An important member of the Silesian musical community. An artist with enormous creative achievements,” we read on the Facebook profile of the concert organizers. Rafał Rekosiewicz died last Sunday, November 26.

Artists from the music community, including Leszek Winder, also said goodbye to Rokosiewicz. “An excellent musician, composer, a man of many talents and an extremely colorful character. It was thanks to him that I got to know and was able to experience the world of the sounds of the Hammond organ… I experienced a beautiful musical time with him, which fortunately remained in numerous recordings,” we read in the post. Paweł Muzzy Mikosz also commented on Rekosiewicz in a similar tone: “Rafał was my teacher, mentor; I owe much of the way I play the bass to ‘Grandpa’. See you later, Rafał.”
