This fall, the song “Lustro” appeared on the Polish music market, in which Bedoes 2115 and Dawid Kwiatkowski to some extent switched roles. The pop artist had the opportunity to test himself in rapping, and the rapper could sing melodiously. The whole thing sounds very fresh, and as it turns out, the song was created in just a few hours!
– I think it would be nice if pop artists tried to enter the world closer to rap at least once, because it’s a truly amazing experience. So educational – says the singer. However, Kwiatkowski admits that it was also stressful for him due to his lack of experience and the authority of Bedoes 2115. – We are doing the song together, but everyone knows their place in the row – said the rapper.
Pop and rap have a lot in common today, but their origins remain the same. We are talking about the so-called beefs
Later in the conversation, the artists explain the differences between these two musical worlds. Bedoes 2115 cited an interesting conversation he had with his own mother. He then explained to her what the so-called phenomenon was. beefs, i.e. artistic conflicts in rap.
I tried to explain to my mother what it was about, and she told me: “Krzysztof Krawczyk’s fans don’t hate Maryla Rodowicz’s fans.” And I tell her: “Yes, mom, but that’s not exactly what it’s about.” (…) The most important thing to understand is that it’s a competition. Rap has always been, is and will be a competition about who is better.
In addition, the artists talked about their experiences working with Doda, whom they both had the pleasure of meeting in their careers. – I didn’t have any major difficulties. I was more likely to set these obstacles for myself. I turned myself on because I was just stressed. Doda is Doda, said Kwiatkowski.
I also asked Bedoes 2115 why the song “Diamenty” from the album Zespół 2115, in which we hear the singer, was not a single. – I wanted to have all the “feats” that are important to me on “Family Business”, so the fact that we managed to do it with Doda is great. (…) It was also a piece made for us, not to be broadcast on the radio. Let us enjoy it, said the rapper.
Bedoes 2115 has always been uncompromising. He was one of the first Polish rappers to show support for gays in a song
At the end of the conversation, I decided to personally thank Bedoes 2115 for the line “I don’t mind a boy with a boy” in the song “1998 (I have it in my blood)”, which the artist released four years ago. The rapper thanked us for these words and told us what it was like working on this song.
It’s not an unknown statement, but when it comes to rap, it is there, because this environment is like that. We were sitting in the studio with Lanek making this song and wondering about the reaction. Will it be too strong for our environment? Won’t they tell us to ‘fuck off’ and that’s it. But we said that this is our opinion and we take it seriously.
– As long as someone doesn’t hurt anyone else, let them do whatever I want. And let’s all just respect each other, added Bedoes 2115, and also appealed to Poles to support each other more. I also asked my guests whether, at a time when there is a lot of talk about the idea of sisterhood, which is to bring women closer together and show them that it is worth drawing from each other’s knowledge and experience, musicians would support the idea of brotherhood. They both answered yes!
