Radomir Wit started working at TVP in 2015, but in 2016 he moved to TVN24. He has a specific opinion about those who – seeing how the station is becoming more and more propaganda-oriented – still work in Polish Television news programs:
I believe that all people who have violated the basic principles of journalistic work should face consequences, because you cannot spread hatred and organize systemic attacks and attack people with impunity. And this happened in the government media.
A fragment of the conversation, which can be seen in a video version on Gazata.pl, and as a podcast “Dobrze czyta, dobre listen” on Publio.pl and on streaming services, can be seen here:
We also invite you to the entire conversation, in which we talk about, among others: about the attempt to get rid of journalists from the Sejm in 2016, how Radomir Wit got to the Sejm and whether he treats Sejm journalism as a mission.
About the book “Sejm Wita”:
“You are going like sheep to the slaughter” – a Law and Justice politician warned journalists against the attempts of… Law and Justice. In 2016, Jarosław Kaczyński had a plan: to get rid of journalists and free media from the Sejm. This lightning war did not work out for him, but the ruling camp did not abandon its plans at all. Radomir Wit presents the behind-the-scenes of the attack on media independence.
If you think that the greatest threat to a politician from the ruling camp is the opposition, then you need to hear stories about how representatives of the same party can trip each other up.
How much are politicians willing to sacrifice for an office, an assistant and a company car? Are they willing to give up their own interests to take care of their voters? When do they lie and do they ever tell the truth? And why do journalists talk to each other’s backs in the Sejm? And also: where can you drink coffee for PLN 1.27 and where to sleep in the center of Warsaw for PLN 116 per day? Can an MP who loses an election count on a financial consolation prize? Who drives a company limousine and at the same time uses mileage without shame? How much do parliamentarians earn and what do they not have to pay for? From which museum do the paintings hanging in the offices of the most important politicians in the Sejm come from?
In this book you will find everything you would like to know about the Sejm, but so far you have not had anyone to ask about it.
