During renovation, we usually try to protect walls and floors, but they do not always come out unscathed. When the renovation crew finishes and takes all their stuff, you will notice dust and dirt on the panels. Simply wiping with a damp cloth will not help in this case. The dirt will only get smeared and you’ll be doing more work.
How to remove dust after renovation? First dry cleaning, then wet cleaning
House cleaning should begin immediately after the renovation is completed. Otherwise, dust and a specific smell will remain in the apartment all the time, making household members reluctant to spend time there. During renovation work, the floor is most vulnerable to damage because ladders and paint cans are placed on it, furniture is moved and tools are kept. The first thing you need to do is sweep the floor. You can use a special brush for this and then clean it with a vacuum cleaner. Only then can you start wet. Be prepared to wash the floor several times, because dust may still be floating around the house, which will inevitably settle on the panels.
How to restore the shine of floor panels? Add a little to the water
You can add some vinegar to the hot water intended for washing the panels. Thanks to this, dust will not stick to them and, in addition, the floor will shine beautifully. The second method is to dissolve a bag of baking soda in water and add a few drops of the selected essential oil. The best choice is one with a pleasant, refreshing scent, e.g. orange, lemon or lime. This mixture will remove even heavy dirt. It is better not to use strong chemicals to clean the panels, as they may damage or scratch the floor.
