Shaving women’s faces is a dangerous trend. The expert warns: “Irritation, rash and even scars”

Shaving the face of women has become very popular in recent years. However, we are not talking about whiskers or eyebrow depilation, but about fuzz, which is located mainly on the cheeks and temples. Many of us want the skin to be as smooth as possible, which is why we use special razors. As it turns out, this is not the best way to shave your face.

Shaving women’s faces is nothing new, as we have been struggling with mustaches, goatees and unregulated eyebrows for decades. However, for some time now it has been fashionable to get rid of hair from the entire face, including the cheeks, temples and forehead. The delicate fluff that is there is simply bothersome to many women. The skin is velvety smooth, and the makeup looks flawless on it. However, these are the only advantages.

Does shaving your face have only advantages for women? Not at all!

The topic of shaving the face using a special razor was recently discussed by cosmetologist Ula Walczysko. She published a video on her TikTok called heyusia in which she presented the not-so-beneficial effects of getting rid of fuzz in this way. We see faces after such treatment that are very red, with rashes and even cuts.

Stop shaving your face. You may cause irritation, rash and even scarring

– she appealed in the recording.

90 percent of women make this mistake! Facial hair removal for women is a delicate process, so it is best to avoid using a razor

– she wrote in the post. Next, she listed the most common side effects of using a razor to shave the entire face. These include mechanical damage to the epidermis, which may cause irritation, redness and ingrown hairs. In such a situation, the risk of skin infections and inflammation also increases. Moreover, the effects are short-lived because the fuzz grows back very quickly. In addition, because we cut the hair in half, when it grows back, it has a sharp end and appears thicker. The beautician also drew attention to the equipment we use:

Facial skin is sensitive and shaving with a razor may irritate it, especially if you use a razor that is not sharp enough or is dirty.

Facial shaving for women – throw away the razor

For women, shaving the face is not perceived as being as important as having well-shaped eyebrows or not having a mustache (and if you feel comfortable with it, you can skip getting rid of body hair altogether). However, if we want perfectly smooth skin, it is worth using other hair removal methods than a razor. The beautician recommends turning to waxing or more delicate creams for depilation, especially facial skin.
