Potatoes are vegetables from which many different dishes are made. They are perfect as an addition to main dishes or as an appetizer. This typically Polish ingredient often appears on plates alongside cutlets, grilled dishes or roasts. Boiling them in water seems like an obvious solution. However, it turns out that you can use another, equally popular drink instead.
How long do you need to cook potatoes? General considerations to keep in mind
The time needed to cook potatoes depends on, among others: depending on their size, variety and purpose. The standard rule is that they should be covered for 20 to a maximum of 30 minutes. In the case of smaller and young potatoes, we shorten this time to up to 15 minutes. First, peel them, wash them thoroughly, if they are larger, cut them into equal pieces and then put them in a pot with water, which will cover them thoroughly. You can check their softness with a fork.
How to cook potatoes? Preparing them in water is not the only effective option
Most people boil potatoes in water. If you want them to be much creamier and more delicate, prepare them with milk. The method of cooking them will not differ from the already well-known one with the addition of water. The only difference is the selection and additions in the form of spices. They can be fresh or dried, e.g. dill, Provençal herbs or ground sweet pepper.

- Then strain everything.
