Harnaaz Sandhu, representative of India, was crowned this Sunday, December 12, as Miss Universe of the 70th edition of the beauty pageant. She is the successor of the Mexican Andrea Meza, Miss Universe 2020.
The judges determined as the second runner-up to Miss Sudáfrica, Lalena Mzayne; and as the first runner-up to Miss Paraguay, Nadia Ferreira.
The selection panel was made up of Urvashi Rautela (actress and model of Indian origin); Marian Rivera (Filipino actress); Rena Sofer (American actress); supermodel Adriana Lima; Iris Mittenaere (Miss Universe 2016); the Mexican actress Adamari López; and actress Lori Harvey, daughter of Steve Harvey, who once again conducted the international contest.
The gala, which took place in the port of Eliat, in Israel, took place on Monday, December 13 in that country, when in our continent it was still Sunday 12. The ceremony was broadcast to the whole world through OnDirectv and Telemundo.
The other hosts of the event were Cheslie Kryst, Miss USA 2019, and Carson Kressley (the fashion expert from Queer Eye) who were also commenting on the most important of the contest.
The night of international beauty opened with the performance of the Israeli rapper Noah Kirel, singing his hit Bad Little Thing. Another artist on stage was Jojo, who interpreted In your room Y Too little too late to set the competition.
In all, 80 ladies vied for the crown tonight. Of these, 16 semi-finalists were considered, who were announced in three groups.
