Andrzej Sapkowski was a special guest at the Vienna Comic Con. The author talked in his characteristic way about writing books, and also mentioned the latest part of “The Witcher”, which is being developed.
It turns out that the approximate premiere date is already known – or even two premieres, because first the new “The Witcher” will be released in Poland in our language, and only then, after a few months, will it hit the international market. According to our Vienna correspondent, Berenika Mioduszewska, Andrzej Sapkowski announces that this will take place at the end of 2024 and at the beginning of 2025, respectively.
They made a series based on one story. They forced me to continue. I’m not complaining. Now, thanks to this, I can now pay the rent – said Sapkowski from the Vienna stage.
The previous part of the book “The Witcher” – “Season of Storms” – met with great interest from fans. And although unfortunately it is generally considered the weakest and “forced”, sales were helped by the effect of computer games. Even then, the whole world knew “The Witcher”, although it was mainly thanks to CD Projekt titles. Now Sapkowski has fans in every corner of the Earth, because apart from books and games, there is also a series.
What about Netflix’s “The Witcher”?
Meanwhile, Netflix’s “The Witcher” is undergoing a difficult revolution. Henry Cavill says goodbye to the series – Liam Hemsworth will play the role of Geralt. The production itself was severely delayed due to strikes by actors and screenwriters in the USA. Only now could work on the set be resumed. We will probably not see the series before the end of 2024 – that is, “by accident”, when Sapkowski will present his latest, not yet officially titled work.
